 Things to do and see

Brittany has lots to offer when it comes to things to do on your holiday. Here are a few of our favourites

 Beaches

Some of the best beaches in Brittany are a short drive from the villa. Veryac'h and Kerleven are particularly recommended, but we also like surfing at Goulien and kayaking to L'ile Vierge - it's on all the postcards!  Rockpooling at low tide is a great hit with the kids.

 Local Towns

Visit picturesque Camaret-sur-Mer, Morgat and Le Fret. Relax in the excellent quayside restaurants and cafes. Take a boat trip from the harbour to see Morgat’s caves.

Visit Crozon market on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month for good local produce and souvenirs.

'Mardi Morgat' is a popular evening festival during high season, with live bands and a night market.

 Walking

For panoramic sea views go walking to the Pointe des Espagnols, just 1.5 kms from the house, or walk to any of a number of ancient forts around Roscanvel
Take the coastal trail at nearby Cap de Chevre, the Tas de Pois rocks at Pointe de Pen-Hir, or further afield at Pointe du Van and Pointe du Raz.

Visit Menez Hom - the highest point in Brittany.

 Places to Visit

Quimper is a delightful historic town with a 15th century cathedral. The old town has lively shops and cafes housed in half timbered buildings. It is also world famous for Quimper faience pottery which can make a great souvenir! www.quimper-tourisme.com

A great day out for the kids (and adults!), Oceanopolis is Europe’s largest marine park with three vast pavilions. Activities include descending into a shark pool in a lift. www.oceanopolis.com There is a regular ferry service to Oceanopolis across the bay (25 minutes) from Le Fret. www.azenor.com

 Activities

You can kayak and swim from our pretty local beach. We also have an outdoor table tennis table with bats and balls which can be easily wheeled out from the garage onto a level gravel area, to play in front of the sea view.

Sailing - The Rade de Brest is France’s largest natural harbour and is ideal for sailing. There is a sailing and kayaking school in Roscanvel harbour.

You can moor your yacht in front of the villa!

Diving - Dive school in Roscanvel

Horse riding - in Roscanvel

Surfing - at Goulien

Boat trips -  from Camaret to see the coastline or to visit the Isles d'Ouessant, or down the Odet river from Quimper.

Places to Eat

There are many places to eat out whether you're after a crepe, a three-course meal, or a delicious patisserie.  A few of our favourites include Crêperie La Bolée (Morgat) , Les Flots (Morgat), La Flambée (Morgat), Boulangerie Pâtisserie Yhuel (Crozon), l'Océanic (Crozon), Hostellerie De La Mer (Crozon) and Ty Billig - a 20 minute walk from the house.
